Meet Teacher Moshe!
We are so excited to kick off Monarch Elementary's new Music program! Thanks to California's Prop 28, we are unveiling a new music class at Monarch where students will be able to lear to read music, explore a variety of instruments and learn to collaborate, communicate & express music togehter!
Music Class
Monarch Elementary School prides itself on its dedication to providing excellent instruction in music for every student once a week year round from grades K-5th. Teacher Moshe is trained in the Orff Schulwerk method of music education. He incorporates rhythm, singing, games, movement, and improvisation into his classes.

Some of the instruments taught in the general music classes include xylophone for 2nd grade, recorder for 3rd-5th grade, ukulele for 4th and 5th grade, and singing and percussion for all grades!​
About Teacher Moshe
Moshe Vilozny was raised in Santa Cruz and studied music at Cabrillo College and UCSC. He worked as a professional musician for many years before getting his teaching credential and moving from music performance to music education.

Voice and guitar are his primary instruments, but as an elementary music teacher, Moshe has learned to play a little bit of everything. You can learn more about Moshe and listen to some of his original compositions here:
